Cisco Announces New CCVP Update
New Curriculum Introduces Troubleshooting Cisco Unified
Communications Systems
The new Troubleshooting Cisco
Unified Communications Systems (TUC) curriculum incorporates system
level triage and troubleshooting methodology, resources and tools.
Further the curriculum focuses on troubleshooting components such
as Cisco Unified CallManager, Cisco Unity, network infrastructure,
and voice clients. The new curriculum provides a foundation
for students to obtain the knowledge and advanced voice skills
needed to troubleshoot Unified Communications Systems and Solutions
in Enterprise, Mid-Market and Commercial deployments.
The new TUC exam 642-426 (replaces the 642-425 IPTT exam)
enables a candidate to validate their knowledge and ability to
successfully troubleshoot Unified Communications Systems and
provide recommended solutions.
The following information describes how the new Troubleshooting
Cisco Unified Communications Systems (TUC) curriculum fits into the
CCVP voice professional certification program.

Cisco Announces Updates to CCSP Certification
Updates to Core Curriculum
The requirements for certification in network security are evolving
along with the solutions deployed in today’s networks. Two of
the four required CCSP courses are being updated with new
content. Revised course materials for Securing Networks with
PIX and ASA will be available May 9, 2007 and the related exam
(642-523 SNPA) will be available on June 1, 2007. Revised
course materials for Implementing Cisco Intrusion Prevention System
will be available June 14, 2007 and the related exam (642-533 IPS)
will be available on September 4, 2007.
New Elective Options
In addition, two new
electives will be added as curriculum options, offering greater
flexibility for those pursuing security professional
certification. Once available, Implementing Network
Admissions Control (642-591 CANAC on May 14, 2007) and Implementing
Cisco Monitoring, Analysis and Response System (642-544 MARS on
July 19, 2007) will also satisfy the elective requirement for
CCSP. One of the current electives, Cisco Secure Virtual
Private Networks (642-511 CSVPN), will eventually be dropped from
the list of elective options. Candidates wishing to take exam
642-511 CSVPN must do so on or before September 12, 2007.
The following information summarizes the new requirements for
